Reuters: Saudi Arabia demanded American restraint in Yemen – rahnam

According to rahnam International News Agency, two well-informed sources told Reuters that Saudi Arabia asked the United States to show restraint in response to the military activities of the Yemeni army against ships in the Red Sea.

Informed sources called this request of Riyadh from Washington to prevent further tension, while they claimed that Riyadh has been satisfied with the way of dealing with this situation so far.

One of the informed sources said: They pressured the Americans about this and why the war in Gaza should be stopped.

Informed sources said that even while the war is going on in Gaza, Saudi Arabia is seeking to advance the peace process in Yemen and they are worried that this issue will go off track.

Reuters also wrote in another part of its report, quoting intelligence sources that are close to Iran, that the attacks of the Yemeni army are part of an effort to put pressure on the United States to stop Israel’s war in Gaza.
