According to rahnam news agency, Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian traveled to the United Arab Emirates this evening (Thursday) as a representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Summit.

Before his trip, the Minister of Energy said, referring to the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran: The plans that the Islamic Republic of Iran had to reduce the emission of pollutants, especially the plans that are currently on our agenda, will be explained in this meeting.

He stated that the latest climate changes will be discussed in this summit and added: The conditions of climate change are such that not all countries are responsible in the same way, and developed countries that are responsible for creating climate and weather conditions and extreme conditions. The climate has had many effects, they have a much higher responsibility, and the solutions and proposals that will be discussed in this summit following the documents published in the previous summits should be more aware of these responsibilities and the countries that have played a greater role in the release of pollutants.

Referring to the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in explaining the existing conditions, he reminded: the plans that the Islamic Republic of Iran has to reduce the emission of pollutants, especially the plans that are currently on our agenda, will be explained in the meeting.

Mehrabian clarified: The main measures of these measures are the development of thermal power plants based on the latest technologies and the reduction of pollutants by increasing the efficiency and productivity of these power plants, as well as the development of renewable power plants as a very important program in the Islamic Republic.

He pointed to the issue of electrification, especially public transportation, in this summit and added: The development of nuclear power plants is one of the important programs of the Islamic Republic and will play a significant role in reducing the emission of pollutants, which will also be explained in this summit.

The Minister of Energy announced the development of strict standards for consumption, especially household appliances and appliances that will cause the release of pollutants, as well as the smartening of power grids, among other important programs to be discussed in this summit.

According to Pavon, the United Nations has announced that more than 100 world leaders will deliver speeches at the United Nations Climate Change Summit during the day.

Based on this, Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Minister of Energy, will give a speech as the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
