Sardar Seyed Mehdi Farhi, deputy minister of defense and support of the armed forces, in a conversation with the defense correspondent of rahnam news agency, announced the confirmation of the arrival of the Mil 28 attack helicopter, the Sukhoi 35 fighter and the Yak 130 training aircraft to the armed forces’ combat organization.
Announcing this news, he said: In the aviation field, the arrival of the Yak 130 training plane, the Sukhoi 35 fighter and the Mil 28 helicopter into the country has been confirmed and the process is underway.
Sardar Farhi continued: Last year, the defense innovation system was announced by the Minister of Defense, and this announcement was very effective, but it does not mean that we have reached the highest technology in all fields. In some areas, we are among the top countries and in some areas we are on the path of maturity. In this direction, in addition to the development of endogenous capabilities, we must also use shortcuts to complete the defense capability, and one of these fields is the field of air technology.
The Deputy Minister of Defense continued: “We have good capabilities in the field of helicopters, that’s why we are the best in the region in terms of quantity, but upgrading the quality of helicopters is on the agenda.” Dozens of projects have been defined in this field, some of which have been carried out, such as flying at night, upgrading avionics systems and missile systems. Today, Panha (Helicopter Support and Renovation Company of Iran) is very different from its situation in the past thirty years, and I think the armed forces are satisfied with the process that is going through in this complex.
According to rahnam, on January 27, 1401, “Igor Levitin”, the special assistant of the Russian president, in a meeting with “Mohammed Mokhbar”, the first vice president of our country, announced the readiness of Russian companies for “joint production of helicopters” with Iran.
Earlier, Amir Mojtaba Rouhani, the CEO of Panha (Helicopter Support and Modernization of Iran) in a conversation with defense correspondent rahnam, announced that Iran has become a regional hub for the repair of eastern helicopters.
* night Hunter
The Mil 28 or “Night Hunter” helicopter is a combat helicopter made in Russia with two turboshaft engines with a power of 2500 horsepower, which gives this helicopter a speed of about 320 km/h.
This helicopter is equipped with a 30 mm 2A42 cannon, which is also used in the BMP 2 personnel carrier, in addition, the two side wings of this helicopter allow it to carry a variety of different weapons such as 80 and 122 mm rockets and Anti-tank guided missiles provide support and assault.

In addition, the Mil-28 helicopter can use other thermal guided missiles for air defense, and this helicopter can achieve a greater operational range by being equipped with external fuel tanks.
The Mil 28N is equipped with various advanced night vision systems, specially designed for flight and operation at night, and its NE model, equipped with advanced communication systems and the possibility of communicating with UAVs, is intended for export.
Also, the cockpit of this helicopter has good protection against bullets up to 23 mm caliber, in addition, the Mil 28 helicopter is equipped with various laser and thermal warning devices, as well as flares to deflect thermal missiles, which increase the level of protection of this helicopter to an acceptable level. have given.
The Mil 28 helicopter can also carry a millimeter wave radar on its main propeller rotor, which will be able to use missiles with this type of guidance as well.
Millimeter wave guidance is a method of missile guidance in which radar waves are irradiated to the surface of the earth. Normally, the return waves have a wavelength of 50 microns, and if there is another object on the surface that is of a different material, the wavelength of the return waves will be different and the missile will follow different wavelengths to reach the target.

This method of guidance is also used in the sea because the sea has a smooth and uncomplicated surface where the smallest complication can be recognized and targeted.
Considering the capabilities of the Mil-28 helicopter in the field of carrying weapons, which is several times higher than the Kobras helicopters, as well as its appropriate level of protection, it seems to be a good option for the IRGC ground forces.
* Super Flanker
Sukhoi 35 is one of the most powerful fighters of the 4++ generation in the world, which is equipped with an advanced N-035 phased array radar and can detect 30 targets and engage with 8 targets at the same time. The range of this radar is 350 to 400 kilometers, which is the longest range among existing fighters. This radar is able to detect and engage air, sea and land targets at the same time, and since it has more than 1600 receiver and transmitter elements, disrupting it is a difficult task.

In addition, the radar of a thermal electro-optical system called OSL 35 is located on the nose of this fighter, which is able to identify targets from a distance of 90 km passively and in the form of thermal vision.
The Sukhoi 35 is powered by two AL41F1 engines that produce 19,400 lb-ft in normal mode and 31,900 lb-ft in afterburner mode. This engine has a variable output that has significantly increased the fighter’s maneuverability.
The maximum speed of this fighter is 1500 km/h at low altitude and 2500 km/h at high altitude, and the operational life of its powerful engines is 4000 hours in each period of service before the need for control and overhaul.
This fighter is armed with air-to-air, air-to-ground, anti-ship and anti-radar missiles at the same time, in addition, it has the ability to launch and fire all kinds of bombs, laser, satellite and radar missiles. The Su-35 can carry up to 10 R-77 active radar missiles, six R-27 semi-active radar missiles, four R-73 missiles or a combination of them for air combat.
In addition, Sukhoi 35 can carry six KH-29 missiles, six KH-31 missiles, KH-35 and KH-35 and KH59 missiles. 500 and 1500 kg KAB series guided bombs and FAB series free fall bombs along with an internal 30 mm cannon are other weapons that the Sukhoi 35 can carry.
* “Yak”; New Air Force Soldier
But the first bird of this trio was “Yak 130”, two of which were delivered to the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran on September 11 of this year.
Yak 130 fighter of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran
The Yak 130 is an advanced training-combat aircraft designed and produced by the Russian Yakulov company and is able to meet the training needs of the pilots of the Air Force to learn to fly with 4th generation fighters. This aircraft was designed to replace the L-39 training jet on the order of the Russian army and provides flight capabilities with 4++ generation aircraft such as the Sukhoi 35 and 5th generation aircraft such as the Sukhoi 57.
This aircraft has been officially entered into service since 2011, and in addition to the Russian army, countries such as Algeria, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Belarus, Myanmar and Syria have ordered or used this aircraft.
Russian Air Force Yak 130 fighter
The Yak 130 is a two-seater aircraft with an aluminum and composite body, capable of serving as a Close Ground Support (CAS) fighter in addition to training missions. This aircraft is capable of carrying up to 3 tons of ammunition, and for this purpose, it has 10 weapons carrying positions under the fuselage, wings, and wingtips.
The aircraft does not have an internal 30mm gun, but can carry an external 23mm gun pod under its wing. In addition, the Yak 130 can carry a variety of conventional and guided weapons, including 250 and 500 kg bombs, 80, 122 and 330 mm rockets, KAB 500 guided bombs, Kha-29 guided missiles and two R-73 thermal missiles for air combat. . Also, this aircraft can carry two electronic warfare pods on both ends of the wings and external fuel tanks to increase the operational range.
