“At this moment, the war is most similar to the First World War, that is, trench warfare. I don’t want it to sound insulting to the victims that we see in Ukraine – and we see them every day. In essence, there are more victims than when the phase was dynamic,” he describes current state of fighting in Ukraine security analyst Vlastislav Bříza. According to him, the offensive of the Ukrainians will start soon and may surprise a few.

“It looks like we are weeks away from the start of the offensive,” Vlastislav Bryza, an expert on international relations and nuclear weapons, predicts the progress of the Ukrainian army, which he says will deploy tactics that we have not seen in decades. “The tip should be the mechanized brigades, which should successfully break through to the rear of the enemy,” the expert describes.
According to him, today the Ukrainian army has an upper hand over Russia in terms of the quality of ground troops. “From classified information leaked from the Pentagon, it follows that Ukraine has already built twelve mechanized brigades at this moment. This is a huge force that no European army has at its disposal,” reveals Bříza. He adds, however, that what Ukraine still does not have are sufficiently modern weapons: “However, the situation is partially changing.”
And is there reason to fear the use of a nuclear arsenal? According to the analyst, it is necessary to realize that there are not two nuclear superpowers facing each other, but only one against a state without nuclear weapons. “It’s actually a more difficult situation for Russia, because if it used even tactical nuclear weapons, it would really be held accountable worldwide,” adds Bříza.
