Fuel prices in the Czech Republic fell significantly again last week. The average price of the best-selling Natural 95 gasoline has dropped by 46 halters to 36.83 kroner per liter since Wednesday last week, and the price of diesel by 85 halters to 31.74 kroner. Diesel is thus the cheapest since the end of September 2021. This is according to data from CCS, which monitors prices. Gasoline prices are down for the third week in a row, and diesel prices have been falling steadily since February.
Gasoline and diesel started to become cheaper at the beginning of this February, when Natural 95 was sold for almost 38 crowns per liter and diesel for more than 37.70 crowns. In the case of gasoline, the price reduction was interrupted at the end of March until roughly mid-April. In the last three weeks, the prices of diesel and gasoline have been falling, each time by tens of pennies.
Fuel is now significantly cheaper than last year at the same time, when prices rose sharply after the start of the war in Ukraine. Gasoline is now 7.33 kroner per liter cheaper than a year ago, while motorists paid 14.67 kroner more per liter for diesel at that time.
The cheapest fuel is now filled by drivers in the South Bohemian Region, where a liter of gasoline costs 36.30 crowns on average. They sell diesel there for an average of 30.60 crowns. On the other hand, the most expensive fuel is offered by pumps in Prague, where a liter of gasoline costs an average of 37.54 crowns. Diesel is refueled there for 33.87 crowns per liter.
