According to the director of the commercial department Tomáš Křivda, Football Sparta will have to leave the Letná stadium in the future and proceed with the construction of a new one elsewhere in Prague.
The main option is Strahov, where Sparta would like to build a national stadium with a capacity of over 30,000 seats.
A member of the board of directors of the Křivda club said this in an interview with Radiožurnál Sport. The Spartans have been operating on the site of the current stadium since 1917.
“Sparta will definitely have to proceed with the construction of a new stadium, because if we were to just rebuild and further modernize the current stadium in quotation marks, it no longer offers us the possibility to increase the capacity and increase the comfort of the visitors,” Křivda said.
“If I put it in the simplest way, we lack a place here in which we would improve the services for visitors to the stadium and possibly increase the capacity,” added the Leten official.
