British Prince William and his wife Kate took the subway to one of the London pubs on Thursday. They talked with visitors to the company about the peak preparations for Saturday’s coronation of King Charles III. in Westminster Abbey. It was reported by the Reuters agency, according to which some people in the metropolis were anxiously awaiting the historic event, while others claimed to be indifferent to it.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were greeted by crowds outside the Dog and Duck pub in Soho, the heart of London’s nightlife, today. William and Kate then headed inside to meet regulars, innkeepers and business owners.
“I hope everything goes well, fingers crossed,” William said at the coronation before pouring himself a pint of beer inside the 19th-century inn. Asked about the upcoming celebrations, Kate, who was sipping a beer as she chatted with guests, said it was going to be a “busy time”.
Kate and William, who is in line for the British throne, will follow King Charles’ golden carriage in a procession through central London on Saturday. On their way to the pub, they chose a less spectacular mode of transport, taking the metro line named in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
