The Partnership Foundation is organizing the 22nd year of the Tree of the Year competition. Until the end of May, you can nominate your favorite trees using the form on the website stromroku.cz. The ten most interesting finalists will compete for the title of Tree of the Year in an online vote from 24 July to 8 October 2023. The most popular tree will then advance to the Europe-wide round. This year’s voting will be free compared to previous years. The public will be able to voluntarily contribute to tree care.
The title of Tree of the Year 2022 was awarded to a three-hundred-year-old pear tree from Drásov in the Příbram region, which grows near a former uranium mine. The baby maple from Ústí nad Orlicí finished in second place in the ecological poll about the most sympathetic tree in the Czech Republic, and the so-called neighbor pear from Kralice nad Oslavou in the Třebíč region came in third.
