The Czech hockey players beat Slovakia 5:1 in the Euro Hockey Challenge in Ostrava and won the third match in preparation for the World Championships in Riga and Tampere in May.
Striker Jakub Flek contributed to the victory with two goals and defender Michal Kempný with a goal and an assist. Back David Němeček and forward Ondřej Beránek also scored for the winners. Goalkeeper Šimon Hrubec was only beaten by Peter Cehlárik when the score was 3:0 in the 41st minute.
On Friday, the rematch will be played again from 17:10 in the RT Torax Arena, the hall of the first league Poruba. Last week, coach Kari Jalonen’s players played two duels with Germany. He won 6:2 in Kassel on Thursday and 5:1 in Frankfurt am Main on Saturday.
