The favorite to win the Stanley Cup did not hesitate at the start of the playoffs. In the first game of the series, Boston beat Florida 3:1, David Pastrňák scored the first goal. David Krejčí and Pavel Zacha scored one assist each.
The Boston hockey players won the opening duel of the first round of the playoffs against Florida. Although the Panthers were more active in shooting in the first half of the match, the home team took advantage of the shooting productivity and form of goalkeeper Linus Ullmark, who was also named the first star of the match.
Already in the sixth minute, David Pastrňák scored on a power play, assisted by David Krejčí. At the beginning of the second period, Brad Marchand increased the score to 2-0, and although Matthew Tkachuk was able to answer with a goal soon after, striker Jake DeBrusk gave the final form of the result after an assist from Pavel Zacha.
