Norwegian rally driver John Haugland will be the main star of the Golden Steering Wheel and Golden Handlebar polls ceremony, which will take place on May 16 in Prague.
The 76-year-old former member of the Škoda factory team will receive the award for the world personality of motor sport, which has been won in the past by, for example, Michael Schumacher, Mika Häkkinen, Giacomo Agostini or last year Emerson Fittipaldi.
As in previous years, the winners of individual awards will be decided by an expert jury, which includes a representative of the online newspaper Aktuálně.cz, and 50 percent by fans, who can vote for their favorites from Tuesday until April 16 on the website www.zlatyvolant. Czech
Compared to the previous year, the car and motorcycle categories of the survey will be divided into “Circuits and hills” and “Offroad”, respectively “Circuits” and “Offroad”. The Talent of the Year will also receive the award, the author of the best photograph will receive the Golden Eye, and traditionally, the Eliška Junková Award for the best competitor will also be awarded.
