In the first game after the end of coach Graham Potter, the Chelsea players drew 0:0 with Liverpool in the end of the 7th round of the Premier League. Brighton won 2-0 at Bournemouth to move within four points of fifth-placed Manchester United.
Potter finished at Chelsea after Sunday’s defeat to Aston Villa and his assistant and interim coach Bruno Saltor led the team into the game today. His charges got the ball behind the goalkeeper Alisson twice, but neither goal was recognized.
Both teams did not win for the third time in a row, and their match ended in a goalless draw for the fourth time in a row after 90 minutes. “Blues” are in 11th place in the table, Liverpool is eighth.
Today there were also three playoffs of the 8th round on the program. Bournemouth’s match against Brighton was decided in the first half by the 18-year-old striker Ferguson, who scored his fourth goal in his eleventh league start of the season with a quick foot. In the end, he added insurance with a premiere hit in the Enciso competition. Brighton did not lose for the fifth time in a row.
Bournemouth fell to the relegation zone as Leeds beat Nottingham 2-1 in a rout. All the goals were scored in the first half, the turnaround completed at the end of the opening act by Sinisterra.
Leicester lost 1:2 to Aston Villa at home in the first match after the dismissal of coach Rodgers. The team from Birmingham got 16 points from the last six games and climbed to the seventh place in the table. The “Foxes” are waiting to win seven duels and are second to last.
Aston Villa striker Watkins confirmed his scoring form, scoring in the sixth away game in a row. The last time Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero did that in the Premier League was six years ago. Barnes equalized before the break, but in the 70th minute Dewsbury-Hall was sent off, and in the 87th minute the decision was made by substitute Traoré after a few seconds on the pitch.
