Sea mines are usually equipped with sensors that are sensitive to changes in the magnetic field, water pressure, and sound produced by the propeller of the vessels, and explode if there is a change in one of these components. In addition, some other sea mines also explode if they collide. They explode directly with the floats, and others are equipped with several sensors at the same time and operate in a combined manner.

The shallow depth of the Persian Gulf has made this sea a suitable environment for the use of sea mines. Some sea mines are located at a depth of 10 to 50 meters in the sea and are capable of causing serious damage to vessels weighing 250 tons.

Therefore, the design of such a vessel to deal with sea mines is one of the requirements of the Navy, which, along with the RH-53 mine-sweeping helicopters and mine-sweeping vessels such as the Shahin mine-hunting vessel, provides Nedaja with a suitable capability.
